Here at Findlay Chevrolet, our team fields the Chevy Silverado Safety Package question just about every week, and the answer starts with what already comes standard. Every 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ships with a solid base of driver assistance before you look at the optional package. Here is what is built in, and what the package adds.

Standard on Every Chevy Silverado

Every 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes with Chevy Safety Assist, a suite that includes:

  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • IntelliBeam® automatic high beams

Automatic Emergency Braking is standard on Work Truck through LTZ, while High Country steps up to Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking instead.

What the Safety Package Adds

The available Safety Package adds extra visibility and trailer awareness. Front and Rear Park Assist, HD Surround Vision™, and Hitch View give a clearer view around the truck in tight parking.

Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, and Rear Pedestrian Alert add awareness when a trailer blocks your sightlines. Together, they make the package worth a look for frequent towing or tight parking.

Which Trims Include It

The Safety Package is available as an add-on for LT and RST. Step up to LTZ or High Country, and these same features already come standard, so there is no separate package to add. Work Truck and Custom do not offer it at all.

The Safety Package rounds out an already strong list of standard driver assistance on the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Whether you tow often or want extra visibility around the truck, ask our team about it on LT and RST trims. Stop by Findlay Chevrolet, and we will show you which trims already include it standard.
